Ayres Rock & The Olgas

Bron in front of the Olgas..where\'s her leg?!?I don’t really need to say much about this place as you know it all already. It is much bigger than I thought. You can climb up it normally but the climb was closed when we arrived. The aborigines don’t want you to climb it anyway so it took the decision out of our hands. We walked round both areas. In fact we did a huge amount of walking..about 11 miles in all. It is sunny here during the day but cold at night. Ideal travelling weather. Tomorrow we are off to the Flinders range which is a bit further South. We might be out of range for a while.

  1. Hi everyone,
We are sorry to hear that Australia are unable to offer much competition to the GB Olympics team. Still there is always 2010 Robbie! How is the beard coming on – any spiders nestling in there yet?
The weather here is dreadful, strong winds and showers, some very heavy. Richard has moved on from your accomodation and Fiona and Brent have gone from the top flat. So it is fairly quiet here at the moment but we are busy getting stuff ready for our trip to France. So you won’t be hearing from us either until September 6th.
Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Love Dad, Grandad, odd job man and all,

  2. Hi everyone,

    Correction 2012!
    Whoops!

Oh well there is still hope or is there, I don’t know do you?

  3. Feels like ages since we’ve logged on (been on a mini roadtrip). Claire your site is so fantastic, it’s been wonderful reading/seeing photos of everything. Boys pretty sleepy – they’ve looked at photos but said they will read properly and e-mail J & B tomorrow.

Bron had a banana paddlepop!!!…glad she liked it. She is absolutely beautiful in that photo on her own and Jack looks SO grown up!

One of you and Robbie is lovely too. Actually, really can’t believe how much you are doing/seeing etc. Such a shame there has been so much rain…admire you all…pretty sure it would get me down….not to mention bugs etc.

As to Jack and supporting the Aussies…yeah!!! Saw something on the BBC website about if it was done on population we’d be ahead of you…glad to see he has some divided loyalties!

Boys watching The Alamo at the moment (just been in Tennesse and Davy Crockett land)….Eddy says to tell Jack and Bron ‘ya’all have a good time now’.

Where are you headed next??? Really, really would have loved to surprise you but just worked out far too expensive. Thinking you guys should go home this way though….house is huge Claire, lot’s of room for visitors???

Boys just decided our next road trip will be to Texas in an RV and Jack has to come with us!!!

Love to all…Ed has decided he’s wide awake now and will write…keep writing…really is wonderful to read!! xxxxx
